Arthur Edward Cobb was said to have been traded by his parents to Ed Cobb for a calf. He lived in Satan’s Kingdom in the old house at the railroad crossing. The house was demolished when the Satan’s Kingdom Inn was built in the 1920’s The Inn was destroyed in the 1955 flood. Art Cobb worked for local farmers and primarily for Olin W. Murphy, the father of Society Board Member Laura Kavanaugh. According to Laura Kavanaugh, Art Cobb was prone to tell tale tales about the wildcats and snakes on Kingdom Mountain. Olin Murphy owned a large farm on the Farmington River Turnpike for 1918 to 1938 (photo circa 1935)
