1825 Sampler done by Phila Barber age 13 – Barkhamsted

1825 Phila Barber Sampler - Barkhamsted

I got this email from Apryl on Oct 29. 2009 – I haven’t been able to place her as of yet – anyone know of a Phila Barber in the Barkhamsted Group? Or is she of the Colonial Barbers?

Hello Coni – Several years ago while visiting Boston, I purchased a sampler in one of the shops there.  We are trying to look into the history of the sampler, and noticed that you’ve done research into the genealogy of the Barber family in Barkhamsted.  The sampler is signed ‘Phila Barber Barkhamsted aged 13 1825’.  We were wondering if you knew of any reference to a Phila (Philadelphia) Barber who would have been born in approximately 1812?  I’d love to know who she was and anything you may know about her, if she is indeed from that area. Thanks so much – Apryl Southmayd
