To all People to whom these Presents Shall Come know that I James Chogum of Berkhamsted in County of Litchfield and State of Connecticut for the Consideration of twenty pounds lawful money Received to my full satisfaction of Solomon Chogum of said Berkhamsted Do Give Grant Bargain Sell and Confirm __ ___ Said Solomon and to his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain Piece of Land Lying in Said Berkhamsted Containing twenty acres (?) And is Butted (?) as follows (viz) East and west on Highway North of Isaac Jacklins Land. South on Land of my own. To have and to Hold the above Granted and Bargained Premises with the  app____ – Tenances therefore unto him the said Solomon and to his Heirs and Assigns forever to his and their own property use and Behoof (?) and also I the said James do for my Self and my Heirs Executors and Administrators Convenant with the said Solomon his Heirs and Assigns that at and until the Ensigning of this Presents I am Will Seized of the premises as a Good Ind__easible Estate in ___ – Simple and have good right to Bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same in of Incumbrances whatsoever and futhermore I the said Do by this Presents Bind my Self and my Heirs forever to ___ and Defend the above Granted and Bargained Premises to ____ Said Solomon his Heirs and Assigns against all Claims  __ _______ whatsoever In witness where I have hereunto set my hand a Seal the 20th Day of September Anno Dom: 1786
