I have been wanting to do a family reunion for the descendants of the Barkhamsted Lighthouse Tribe – I have set a date with Paul Hart the President of the Barkhamsted Historical Society and Squires Tavern – we have decided on July 2nd-6th 2015~
I will be planning a few events – one is having Ken Feder show us his archeology work at the Lighthouse site along with “hopefully” getting a presentation out of him (still have to contact him on this)
I also will try and have Drew Shuptar Rayvis come and do a survival tour (will contact him to see if dates are ok – he has already agreed to do it for us) – he would show us all the plants and stuff our Native Americans would of used to survive on the land.
Paul Hart is willing to give us a tour of Chagum Lookout and other areas of Ragged Mountain (where our Ancestors lived)
They also do a parade in Barkhamsted on July 4th – Paul said we are all welcomed to join in!
They have fireworks in the next town over – few miles (abt 7) that we could do – not sure on ordinance of campground if allowed~
The also have a drive in theater – a great family night thing we could do – just down the road~
Hope MANY of the descendants will try and do this – would be awesome to meet many of you~
