George A Allen Death Certificate – My Great Grandfather

Donated by Sheri Church
Donated by Sheri Church 5/14/13

From our records:

MY GG Grandmother Julia Kenny/Kinny
1. She married  George Washington Short sometime between 1861 -1865
2. He served in the Civil War
3. He didn’t return from the war after it was over – the story is he was MIA -we are just finding out that he was wounded and in a hospital
4.  During that time Julia was with a Allen Man – Living together
5. She told Allen man  that if George Washington Short ever returned she would honor her 1st marriage
6. She got pregnant by Allen man – during her pregnancy or shortly after George Short returned
7.  I had Birthdate  as Jan 10th 1867 for George A Allen but death records states it is June 10, 1866 (I have made corrections in my files to June 10th 1866 date – Note from Coni need birth record)
8. I believe George A Allen might not knew who his REAL FATHER WAS OR  the identity of his origin
Each record I have for him states different Fathers
A. Marriage to Lydia Sutliff – states father as John Allen (Sheri Church’s lineage)
B. Marriage to Ada Barber – states father as Delotes Allen (My Lineage)

C. Death record states Ladous Allen

9.  I believe at one point he found out that George Short wasn’t his real father & DROPPED THE SHORT NAME – became known as GEORGE ALLEN –  was a Short in early records (Census and such)
MY GRANDFATHER Alvin Allen once told me We are not who you think we are!
Note from Coni: I am doing a DNA project (See DNA on top tab) to try to narrow down Allen lineage – at this time we are uncertain as to who his father is~ My Father Rex Allen has matched 2 other Allen Men and we are trying to narrow it down~
Any info or help on this is greatly appreciated~
